Setup wizard

Teach the models your own custom tables, views and classes, on your own computer.

Why it matters

Your code uses your own Z, Y and namespace tables, CDS views, classes and function modules. The models write much better code when they know those definitions. The setup wizard builds a local index of them; the agent then adds the relevant definitions to each request automatically.

Start it

The installer opens the wizard at the end of setup. It runs a small local page in your browser, on this computer only (127.0.0.1); nothing is uploaded.

Step by step

  1. Welcome: if you already have an index, it shows a summary and offers Rescan saved sources.
  2. Sources, in any combination, plus optional customer namespaces such as /ACME/:
    • A local folder: an abapGit repository or an ADT project export (tables, data elements, domains, CDS views, behaviour definitions, class and interface definitions, function modules). A broken file is reported and skipped.
    • An import file: a CSV or TSV export of table DD03L from SE11 / SE16 (table name, field name, key flag, data element, data type, length, decimals), optionally DD05S for foreign keys. The page detects the columns and lets you change the mapping; templates are offered for download.
    • A live SAP system, read-only: host, client, user, password and name filters (for example Z*, Y*, /ACME/*). The wizard only reads definitions; it never changes anything in the system.
  3. Scope: everything found, grouped by package or name prefix, with checkboxes and search. By default all Z*, Y* and namespace objects are selected; your choices are kept when you rescan.
  4. Build: writes the index and a summary. Rescan saved sources re-reads every source and keeps your exclusions.
  5. Relationships: a diagram of your tables and CDS views. Key fields first (toggle All fields); solid arrows are foreign keys or CDS associations and joins, dashed arrows are inferred. Click a table to focus on its neighbours; pan, zoom, search, and export as SVG or PNG.

Privacy

  • Everything the wizard reads and writes stays on this computer; it makes no network call except to the SAP host you type in, and only when you ask for an SAP scan.
  • The index holds definitions only (names, fields, types, descriptions, signatures, CDS source): no table contents and no transport data.
  • Your SAP user and password are used for that one scan and dropped; they are never written to disk or to a log. An optional Remember stores them only in your operating system's keychain; Forget removes them.
  • The SAP connection is read-only by construction: it only reads and never writes, locks or activates anything.

Where the index is stored

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\Kaidris\
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Kaidris/
  • Linux: $XDG_DATA_HOME/Kaidris/

Delete that folder to remove the index completely.
